Nick shook his head a bit. He was lying on his back on some sort of padded platform. Bright lights shone down onto his eyelids. His left side tingled with pain and something was prodding his shoulder. A faint beeping sound pulsed in his ears, following the rhythm of his heartbeat. He coul
"Get those ODST's out of here! I've got it covered. Go!" I shout to the remnant of my squad who lingers behind me. "Jackson..." Parkson pleads. "Just go!" I roar, firing off at the Covenant soldiers, keeping them at bay. 211 is down, Parkson is bleeding. There is more then one life on the line. And I need to make sure they get back to safety. Save one life and lose hundreds? Or sacrifice one life and save just as much?
I don't turn as the Pelican lands, thudding roughly onto the battle-scarred cement. I only pay attention to the looming threat of the Covenant soldiers pressing closer and closer with each growing minute. They're getting

"Another day. Another mission. Am I right?" 211 asks as they are getting ready to drop into a hot battlezone. "Feels like it, recently," I says and slam a fresh clip into my weapon. "You ready to drop, marines?" 211 asks the other four ODST's. "Hell yes!" They reply. "Good. Follow our Pods, try not to get killed before you touch down. It's going to be hell down there. We're going inside of the main structure, rescuing our men trapped inside, and getting out. You marines will extract while we stay behind to clean up. Everyone understand?" 211 says. "Hell yeah," They reply.
"Get ready to drop," A voice blares over the room's speakers. "Le

Michelle shot up out of the covers. Sunlight streamed though a window with a red hue. The room itself seemed purple and small indigo lights glided over the opposite wall.
"Ugh... I don't remember going to sleep," she thought to herself, absentmindedly rubbing her head in confusion, but then stopped suddenly. Her head didn't feel right, she had no hair. A quiet gasp escaped her and she felt her mouth split apart. Michelle screamed and leaped out of bed. Her legs

“Get back inside!” Ryau yelled. He slid around the doorway and Naki hit the door lock, locking down the facility to the Flood outside. The small door slid together with a click. “Gods... there went our way out of here.” Ryau said. Endesa and Shan moved into position to cover the door and the hall they had originally come from. He switched over to the broader radio channel. “Marissa, we lost our Gondola. The Flood

“Shipmaster, The human ship has found us. Their weapons are coming online, their shields raised.”
“Raise the shield, but leave weapons offline. Hail them.”
“Yes shipmaster.”
The female Elite stood behind the communications officer waiting for any response from the human ship. The officer looked up at her and then back down at the screen. “The humans are accepting the hail.” She looked up from his station to the rest of the cockpit. Elites every where were working fast and cautiously around the room. She sighed softly

Well, here I am; Aem'ee 'Rithinee. Created. Pushed out. Ready for a brand-new life and adventure as my creator has so urged me to be for over days now.
What happens now? I am on a ship... oh, there's Rha! And Enkir! My friends! And... that disgusting bastard, Uros. I had been informed of his "purpose" to damage my life. To make a mark on my past, to match someone else's. Why? That is a terrible thing. I was forced to give in to him because he was a higher rank than me. I had no control over him taking advantage of me. At least I know he will be punished...
Obviously I am in a miserable mood from things troubling me. *sigh* Can't I enjoy my ti
“On charges of kidnapping, conspiracy, and aiding and abetting the enemy, you are sentenced to death. Admiral Osman, if you would.”
So said the gavel.
Doctor Halsey sat silently in the back of the Pelican, Flame against her side. An old gunshot wound to her shoulder plagued her these days, though the bullet had been removed and the wound healed by Flame. She knew that sooner or later it would one day come to this. She just never thought that Flame would be beside her when it did.
The red-orange cat sighed and rubbed her head against Halsey’s side. “I’m going to go check on Osman.” Her voi

Osman unfolded the blanket and wrapped it around herself, watching Flame’s interaction with Halsey from where she sat. She had known that the two shared a bond, but she never knew how close they were. Now that she did, she realized just what she was going to tear apart when this assignment was through. But there was no choice. It had to be done.
She was silent as Flame trotted over to her and stretched again. The cat took the second blank and shook it open. She draped it over herself and formed a ball, her head on Osman’s leg. She raised her head once to pull the blanket up further and settled down with a content sigh,
The Pelican jerked.
Flame’s eyes snapped opened as the Pelican groaned and shuddered. She looked up and met Doctor Halsey’s eyes. They knew something was wrong.
“Stay here.” Flame sprang up and bolted to the cockpit. Osman was struggling with the controls, trying to keep the bird leveled in the air. “Admiral, what’s going on?”
“Either we’ve been hit, or something hit us,” Osman answered through clenched teeth. “I’m not going to be able to keep this bird in the air much longer.” She pulled at the controls, fighting the Pelican’s every unwar
